DAW Setup

Angels works as a standard audio effect plugin. Insert it on an audio track or bus to process audio through its granular engine.

Ableton Live

  1. In the browser, go to Plug-insAudio Units (Mac) or VST3 (Windows/Mac)
  2. Find Angels and drag it onto an audio track
  3. Play audio through the track to hear Angels process it
Tip:

For MIDI triggering, create a MIDI track and set its output to the track containing Angels. Arm the MIDI track and play notes to trigger grains.

Automation

All Angels parameters appear in Ableton's automation lanes. Click the plugin header's configure button to add parameters to the automation chooser.

Tempo Sync

Angels automatically syncs to Ableton's tempo when using tempo-synced parameters (SYNC POSITION, SIZE SYNC, DENSITY SYNC, CLOCK).

General Tips

CPU Usage

Granular processing with high density and multiple randomization sources increases CPU load. If you experience dropouts:

  • Increase your DAW's buffer size
  • Reduce DENSITY
  • Disable unused randomization sources

Latency

Angels introduces minimal latency from its reverbs. Your DAW's plugin delay compensation handles this automatically.

Preset Management

Use your DAW's preset system, or save/load .angels files directly from the plugin header. Angels presets are cross-platform and cross-DAW compatible.
