Getting Started

Angels is a granular effect plugin. It continuously records incoming audio into a buffer, then plays back fragments (grains) from that buffer.

Quick Start

  1. Load Angels on an audio track in your DAW
  2. Play audio through it
  3. Turn up the BLEND knob to hear the granular output
  4. Adjust TIME to control where in the buffer grains are pulled from (left = recent, right = older)
  5. Adjust SIZE for grain duration and DENSITY for grain overlap

Core Concepts

Buffer: Angels records incoming audio into a circular buffer (8, 16, or 32 seconds). The TIME knob scrubs through this buffer.

Freeze: The FREEZE button stops recording new audio. The current buffer contents are locked.

Scale Quantization: Choose a scale from the dropdown. BLOOM controls how strictly pitches snap to scale degrees (0% = root only, 100% = all degrees).

Randomization: Each parameter has a small randomization knob. The DEJA VU knob controls whether random values are fresh (left), locked (center), or shuffled from a stored buffer (right).
