Angels
Getting Started
Angels is a granular effect plugin. It continuously records incoming audio into a buffer, then plays back fragments (grains) from that buffer.
Quick Start
- Load Angels on an audio track in your DAW
- Play audio through it
- Turn up the BLEND knob to hear the granular output
- Adjust TIME to control where in the buffer grains are pulled from (left = recent, right = older)
- Adjust SIZE for grain duration and DENSITY for grain overlap
Core Concepts
Buffer: Angels records incoming audio into a circular buffer (8, 16, or 32 seconds). The TIME knob scrubs through this buffer.
Freeze: The FREEZE button stops recording new audio. The current buffer contents are locked.
Scale Quantization: Choose a scale from the dropdown. BLOOM controls how strictly pitches snap to scale degrees (0% = root only, 100% = all degrees).
Randomization: Each parameter has a small randomization knob. The DEJA VU knob controls whether random values are fresh (left), locked (center), or shuffled from a stored buffer (right).
