License Activation

Find Your License Key

After purchasing Words, you'll receive an email with your license key. The key looks like this:

XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

You can also find your license key in your account page at any time.

Activate Words

  1. Open Words
  2. Go to Words > License in the menu bar
  3. Enter your license key
  4. Click Activate

Your license is now activated on this Mac.

Activation Limits

Your Words license can be activated on up to 2 Macs at a time. This is intended for your personal use across multiple machines (e.g., studio desktop and laptop).

Transfer to a New Mac

If you get a new Mac or need to move your license:

  1. On the old Mac, go to Words > License > Deactivate
  2. On the new Mac, activate using the same license key
Tip:

If you no longer have access to the old Mac, you can reset your activations from your account page.

License Issues

"License key invalid":

  • Double-check you've entered the key correctly
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces
  • Copy/paste from your email to avoid typos

"Activation limit reached":

  • Deactivate on a Mac you're no longer using
  • Or reset activations from your account page

Lost your license key:

  • Check your purchase confirmation email
  • Log into your account to view your license
