License Activation

Find Your License Key

After purchasing Words, you'll receive an email with your license key. The key looks like this:

XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

You can also find your license key in your account page at any time.

Activate Words

Open Words
Go to Words > License in the menu bar
Enter your license key
Click Activate

Your license is now activated on this Mac.

Activation Limits

Your Words license can be activated on up to 2 Macs at a time. This is intended for your personal use across multiple machines (e.g., studio desktop and laptop).

Transfer to a New Mac

If you get a new Mac or need to move your license:

On the old Mac, go to Words > License > Deactivate
On the new Mac, activate using the same license key

Tip:

If you no longer have access to the old Mac, you can reset your activations from your account page.

License Issues

"License key invalid":

Double-check you've entered the key correctly
Make sure there are no extra spaces
Copy/paste from your email to avoid typos

"Activation limit reached":

Deactivate on a Mac you're no longer using
Or reset activations from your account page

Lost your license key:

Check your purchase confirmation email
Log into your account to view your license
